PURPOSE:
This educational activity seeks to improve understanding and skills of registered nurses and other allied healthcare professionals by describing the most recent innovations and management strategies in cardiovascular medicine.
Target Audience:
Registered Nurses. In addition, we believe that Registered Cardiovascular Specialists, Physician Assistants, Nurse Practitioners and other healthcare workers will find the presentations useful.
Course Objectives:
Registered Nurses and others that attend will improve their abilities to:
- Review current guidelines for the management of sudden cardiac death and the use of implantable cardiac rhythm devices.
- Discuss the surgical management of common congenital heart defects.
- Facilitate ECG interpretive skills (acute myocardial injury, tachy/brady arrythmias, pacemakers ECG's).
- Discuss cardiovascular health issues pertinent to women.
- Address sexual concerns for patients with cardiovascular disease.
- Preview new techniques and treatment strategies for percuteous coronary revascularization.
